If you have overused muscles or nerve pain, call Aches ’n’ Pains Therapy Centre in Burlington to learn how ART can help you.

Active Release Technique (ART) is a state-of-the-art soft tissue rehabilitation technique used for treating problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART can provide relief for headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, knee pain, shoulder pain and other ailments.

When even regular, everyday tasks such as sleeping, bending down, looking over your shoulder while driving or picking up an object cause discomfort, don’t simply try to wait it out and hope it will get better on its own.

Factors such as pulls, tears and not enough oxygen getting to a muscle can cause the body to produce tough scar tissue in the affected area. Scar tissue can cause muscles to progressively become shorter and weaker, trapping nerves and leading to tendonitis.

When a muscle has been overused, the patented Active Release Technique can be applied to help alleviate pain, increase the range of motion and improve circulation. ART movements are a combination of chiropractic and massage techniques that apply tension to precise problem spots.

Dr. Michael White of Aches ’n’ Pains Therapy Centre evaluates the tightness and movement of muscles, tendons and nerves and then uses the non-invasive ART treatment moves to correct your specific problem. He is also trained and experienced in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, using specially designed instruments to detect areas with soft tissue problems and inflammation. Once those areas are identified, tools are used to break down scar tissue and stimulate the healing response for a quicker recovery.

In addition to complete chiropractic care, Aches ’n’ Pains Therapy Centre also offers acupuncture, orthotics and registered massage therapy.
